The collaborative practice of Eleni Tongidou and Phillip Staffa explores and dissects the places that surround us, engaging with their specific textures and materials to create spatial installations, durational performances and time-based meditations. The work of the duo is site-specific and ephemeral in nature, combining sculpture, an open approach to three-dimensionality and new media. Based in Berlin, but coming from different places originally (Nicosia, Cyprus and southern Germany), the work of Eleni Tongidou and Phillip Staffa is dedicated to bringing together and contrasting these different references to space and time, and - often with a playful approach - to experiencing, grasping and comprehending the locations and modalities in which we live.

Eleni Tongidou (*1989 in Nicosia, Cyprus) is a graduate of the University of Leeds, UK, (BA Honours Fine Art), Phillip Staffa (*1986 in Friedberg, Germany) is a trained sculptor and holds a diploma in Jazz Guitar and composition from Hochschule für Musik, Würzburg.
